Trumpeter Averil Taylor represents the vanguard of Atlanta’s contemporary jazz and progressive soul evolution. Known for a signature performance philosophy rooted in absolute tonal excellence and clean melodic simplicity, Taylor has built a reputation as a commanding instrumentalist, band leader, and educator who prioritizes the deep-pocket preservation of the craft.
A proud alumnus of Clark Atlanta University, Taylor’s musical pedigree is deeply intertwined with the historic jazz tradition of the city. His elite commercial execution has earned him a place on some of the industry’s most prestigious modern recording projects, notably serving as a featured member of the powerhouse horn section on Durand Bernarr’s Grammy Award-winning album, BLOOM.
